Arbor Greene CDD

Honoring All Our Heroes

May 1 - May 31

12:00 am - 11:55 pm

Multi-Day Event

Dear Arbor Greene Residents,

We hope this finds you and your families safe and healthy!! While EVERYONE has been affected one way or another by COVID-19, hopefully, you have been able to witness something positive during this pandemic. The Arbor Greene CDD is grateful to our Residents who have supported each other by demonstrating many different acts of kindness! To list some of these wonderful acts (in no particular order), thank you to our RESIDENTS who have made and/or donated masks and other supplies for our healthcare providers and for members of our community. Thank you to the men and women who have gone shopping for their neighbors during this time. Thank you for donating and/or delivering meals to our local healthcare workers. Thanks for keeping us informed about which local stores were stocked with needed supplies. Thank you for taking the time to provide restaurant recommendations. Thank you for writing inspirational or funny messages on Social Media and thank you for participating in fun activities for our children (sidewalk chalk games, and/or scavenger hunts).

WE’RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER

Before the “Safer At Home” policy was issued in the United States, I recall watching posts on social media which showed quarantined residents across Spain and Italy standing on their balconies to offer mass applause for their Healthcare Workers. Fortunately, many cities (including Tampa) have instituted wonderful ways to express gratitude to First Responders and Healthcare Workers. Undoubtedly, our Healthcare Workers have put their own lives at risk to provide care for their patients. Sometimes the Doctors and Nurses had to work without necessary protective equipment. Sadly, we heard or read stories about Doctors and Nurses that have died as a result of the Coronavirus. We learned that many Doctors and Nurses had to be away from their own children and families because of being exposed or contracting the Coronavirus.
While we are anxious to get back to our routines and personally reconnect with our families and friends, we are forever grateful for the sacrifices made by our Healthcare Providers and First Responders. As a token of our appreciation, we are asking for your participation in following Activities:

HONORING OUR HEROES throughout the Month of MAY

• May 1-May 3, 2020- THIS WEEKEND!!! LIGHT UP ARBOR GREENE:
Please turn on your porch light between 8-10 pm in honor of ALL OUR HEROES

• May 1st-May 31 2020-WHITE RIBBON MOVEMENT:

Please tie a white ribbon around a tree, pole or on your mailbox to honor all Front Line Workers (Healthcare Workers and First Responders)

Regarding ribbon, since other communities are participating in similar activities, it may be difficult to find ribbon at the store. Consequently, if you are not successful locating ribbon after searching your closets, craft supplies or on- line sources, you’re certainly welcome to use a bow or print a bow/ ribbon similar to the one provided that can be colored (by you or your child) and hung on your front door!

• May 6-12, 2020-NATIONAL NURSE’S WEEK- Positive Posters & Posts

Please Create a positive message (using chalk on your driveway or sidewalk) or make a poster and put it on your front door to tell Nurses, Doctors and other Health Care Workers just how much you value their sacrifices and selflessness during these challenging times.
